Vote for Autumn Nations Series Try of Round 3

Vote for Autumn Nations Series Try of Round 3

From Cardiff to Toulouse, we were treated to another cracking weekend of Autumn Nations Series action – and saw some amazing tries.

Now, it’s your turn to vote for the Try of the Round and we have four fabulous contenders to choose from.

Rieko Ioane – England v NEW ZEALAND

This one at Twickenham will be right up there with Ioane and New Zealand’s very best.

Beauden Barrett found Caleb Clarke in space with one of several pinpoint cross-kicks, who in turn Ioane with a clever change of direction, leaving him free on the outside just outside his own 22.

The centre’s searing speed was quite quickly made apparent, with nobody able to catch him as he dived into the corner to give New Zealand a 22-6 lead.

Naoto Saito – France v JAPAN

The Brave Blossoms have become well known for trying to score from anywhere, and against Les Bleus they scored a try of real quality.

Scrum-half Naoto Saito got quick ball out to full-back Ryohei Yamanaka who broke free and into the France 22.

Saito followed him like all great scrum halves do, running the perfect support line to receive the ball and get over the finish line for a classy Japan try.

Cheslin Kolbe – Italy v SOUTH AFRICA

Italy had just reduced the gap to 18-16 from the boot of Tommaso Allan, but it took only 25 seconds for South Africa to extend that lead again thanks to a moment of genius from Cheslin Kolbe.

Straight from the kick-off the Springbok winger jumped highest to take the ball and sprint away to score, with the Italian defence helpless to stop the speedster.

Alexander Todua – Wales v GEORGIA

Georgia were pushing for a score for some time as they looked to spring one of the shocks of the Autumn Nations Series on Wales in Cardiff.

Eventually with Alex Cuthbert in the sin-bin and the Lelos right on the Welsh line, fly-half Tedo Abzhandadze found Alexander Todua free on the left-hand side with a sumptuous cross-kick.

Todua caught it on the run and dotted down as Georgia made history with a first-ever win over Wales.

Honourable mentions:

Freddie Steward’s try for England came during an incredible passage of play for Eddie Jones’ side, as they came back from 25-6 down to draw 25-25, while Cobus Reinach scored a cracker for South Africa. Sione Tuipoloutu also scored a couple of excellent tries in Scotland’s 52-29 win over Argentina.
