Cokanasiga ruled out of England squad for All Blacks clash

Joe Cokanasiga has been ruled out of England’s Autumn Nations Series match against New Zealand with an ankle injury.

The winger had originally been called up into Jones’ squad for the 52-13 victory against Japan in Round 2 as a late replacement for Jack Nowell, who was ruled out shortly before the match due to injury.

However, Cokanasiga will be absent for this weekend’s visit from the All Blacks, while Nowell returns to the 25-man squad after recovering from an abdominal issue.

Alongside Nowell, Tommy Freeman will also provide cover on the wing, while Owen Farrell has been retained in the squad with the 31-year-old is set to win his 100th cap for his country.

The rest of Jones’ squad is largely unchanged, as his side prepare to face New Zealand for the first time since their 19-7 victory over the All Blacks in the semi-final of the Rugby World Cup three years ago.

Manu Tuilagi could be back in the starting XV after only playing the final 17 minutes last week under Jones’ plans to rest him, while Billy Vunipola is also in contention to start.
