When are the team announcements for Round 3 of the Autumn Nations Series

Ange Capuozzo Italy

All the Six Nations teams will take on the best of the southern hemisphere sides, with action throughout the weekend for the third consecutive week.

After two exhilarating full sets of fixtures, Autumn Nations Series Round 3 gives us a final weekend of six fixtures, and as always there is plenty to play for.

With fascinating matches to come, much of the intrigue in the week will be on team selection and who the coaches opt for.

Here we let you know when all the team announcements are expected.

Wales v Georgia

Wales bounced back from a disappointing 55-23 defeat to New Zealand in Round 1 of the Autumn Nations Series with a 20-13 win over Argentina at Principality Stadium.

Wales have defeated Georgia on each of the three times they have clashed, including an 18-0 win in the Autumn Nations Cup in November 2020.

Georgia were in fine form in the summer through, defeating Italy 29-19 in July, and they will be hoping to spring another surprise on a Six Nations side this weekend.

Wayne Pivac will announce Wales’ side at 11am on Tuesday, with Georgia’s side expected to be announced on Thursday afternoon.

Italy v South Africa

It has been an incredible start to the Autumn Nations Series for Italy, defeating Samoa 49-17 and Australia 28-27 in their first two matches of the competition.

South Africa meanwhile have been defeated in both of their opening matches, falling 19-16 to Ireland and 30-26 to France in a classic in Marseille.

The Springboks will be looking to finally earn a win in Europe this autumn, while Italy will be hoping to repeat their 2016 victory over South Africa.

Kieran Crowley is expected to name his team at 9am on Thursday, while Jacques Nienaber will name the South Africa squad on Tuesday at 11am.

Scotland v Argentina

Scotland were left heartbroken for the second time in three Autumn Nations Series matches when they suffered a late 31-23 defeat to New Zealand at BT Murrayfield.

A late penalty miss from Blair Kinghorn saw them also lose out by a mere point to Australia, but they did defeat Fiji in between.

Argentina stunned England 30-29 to win at Twickenham for the first time since 2006, but could not back that up in Cardiff, losing 20-13.

Gregor Townsend will announce his final Scotland team of the year at 3pm on Thursday, with Argentina also expected to announce their team on Thursday.

England v New Zealand

After responding to that defeat to Los Pumas in Round 1 with a resounding 52-13 win over Japan, England meet New Zealand for the first time since their semi-final victory at the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

The All Blacks were given a scare at BT Murrayfield last week but came back to seal a win and are two from two in the Autumn Nations Series, carrying on their ominous form after winning the Rugby Championship.

New Zealand 1920x1080

Eddie Jones will announce his 23 for the All Blacks at 11:15am on Thursday, with New Zealand also expected to name their side on Thursday.

Ireland v Australia

Ireland have been in fine form again this Autumn Nations Series, after their perfect run last year and welcome the Wallabies to the Aviva Stadium again after a six-year hiatus.

Victories over South Africa and Fiji have been what Andy Farrell will have been looking for, but he will be hoping to seal the deal with victory over Australia.

The Wallabies have been involved in three crackers so far, with each of their matches decided by a point, defeating Scotland 16-15, before losses against France (30-29) and Italy (28-27) see them looking to come out on the right side of a tight score this weekend.

Farrell will announce his team at 4pm on Thursday, while Dave Rennie will name his side at 2pm on the same day.

France v Japan

Les Bleus are fresh from consecutive thrillers, edging out the Wallabies and South Africa in style, now attentions turn to the Brave Blossoms.

After pushing New Zealand all the way in Tokyo only a few weeks ago, they will have been frustrated by their showing at Twickenham on Saturday.

France Lucu

The two sides met in a two-Test series in the summer, with France winning 42-23 and 20-15 and Japan looking to steal a shock victory in Toulouse.

It is expected that both sides will name their respective teams on Friday.
