Twickenham to welcome back fans in Autumn Nations Cup

Twickenham will welcome back fans for England’s final Autumn Nations Cup match after the UK government announced supporters can return to stadiums in December.

London has been placed in tier two of England’s local lockdown restrictions, meaning Twickenham can host 2,000 fans for their Finals Weekend match on Sunday December 6 – subject to social contact rules.

The RFU has allocated 20% of those tickets to NHS workers, while players’ families, local rugby clubs and fans will make up the rest.

England currently top Group A following wins against Georgia and Ireland, and complete their group campaign away at Wales on Saturday.

They will then host the team that has the same rank from Group B on Finals Weekend. As it stands, England would face Scotland to determine who would become Autumn Nations Cup champions.

“We are delighted to be able to welcome 2,000 fans to Twickenham Stadium for the final Quilter International as part of the Autumn Nations Cup on Sunday 6 December,” said RFU CEO Bill Sweeney.

“This is an opportunity for us to operate a socially distanced event as a small step forward in our plans for the return of fans to the stadium. The team will be thrilled to have fans supporting them in person along with the thousands that will be watching on Amazon Prime.

“20% of the seats for the game will be gifted to local NHS workers, the remaining will be for the players families, local rugby clubs, sponsors and around 1,000 seats will be on sale with prices starting from £75.”
