Wales ended their six-game losing streak with a hard-fought 18-0 victory over Georgia in Round 2 of the Autumn Nations Cup.

In treacherous conditions at Parc y Scarlets wing Louis Rees-Zammit dotted down on his first international start, when Callum Sheedy released him to slide over in the corner.

Georgia, trailing 10-0 at half-time, gave as good as they got though and could have got onto the scoresheet early in the second half but for a knock-on.

As Wales searched for a second try Georgia’s Beka Saginadze was sent to the sin bin for a high tackle on Justin Tipuric before Rhys Webb crossed to settle the game.

The scrum-half ran in after good work from Johnny Williams and Sheedy which saw Rees-Zammit then flick the pass inside to Webb.

The result leaves Wayne Pivac’s side third in Group A ahead of a huge contest with England next week, while Georgia travel to Ireland.
